Chevron House is a modest 3 bedroom single storey modular retirement bungalow and we say bungalow in the loosest of terms.
This ultra contemporary and highly sustainable replacement dwelling has been specifically designed to our clients exacting requirements and in accordance with strict National Planning Policy Framework that allow careful and intelligently designed architecture to gain approval within the restricted area of the Green Belt.
The design follows a simple but considered floor plan that allows both intimate and open spaces to combine, allowing a natural freedom within the spaces whether entertaining or relaxing, combine this with the delicate but direct approach to movement between inside and outside spaces and Chevron House shines as an architectural gem.
The clever use of vertical and horizontal frameless glazing allows Chevron House to fully maximise the outstanding views and sun solace, allowing the home to maximise solar energy throughout the day.
The use of everyday agricultural type materials reinvented allows Chevron House to seem incredibly modern but somehow seem appropriate within the Greenbelt setting and wider landscape, the use of organic self preserving materials such as burnt timber, corten steel, birch timber and light landscaping allow the property to speak to the setting in which it stands, providing an effortless connection between solid form and the topography.
Designed purely with self-build in mind Chevron House has been developed and created to be constructed off-site to minimise damage within the green belt, thus enhancing the sustainability of the new dwelling by controlled pre-construction off-site and reducing on-site construction time.
