Barn Renovation – Manor House Barn:

Manor House Barn was originally converted back in 2000, the original barn and piggery was converted to created a character filled 5 bedroom executive residence. Our client contacted us and using our plot and project finder commissioned us to located properties within the much sort after area of Much Hoole that had potential to create his main family home. Set within 1 acre at the end of a gravel track Manor House Farm had great potential to be redesigned and upgraded to create a executive home of real quality.

Once we had carried out our property assessment we developed the master plan for the barn, redesigning the entire floor plans, adding a single storey glass and oak extension and preparing designs for the new feature staircase. Our interior design looked to open up the spaces and create interior designs that enhanced the existing vaulted oak trusses and exposed brick walls.

Set within the grounds of a Grade 2 listed farm house we prepared detailed conservation drawings and schedule of works and began discussions with the local Conservation officer to determine the extent of the works and the sensitive nature of the renovation works. Once planning and listed building consent was granted we developed extensive construction drawings to allow the renovation works to be carried out.

This once tired barn conversion has now a fully revitalised, energy efficient family home with exceptional character that blends seamlessly with the interior modernism.
